Photographer’s notes: Hatfeild Hall
Venue at a glance
- Where: Stanley, on the edge of Wakefield
- Style: Georgian manor house on a golf course
- Arrival: Tree-lined drive along the course
- Real wedding: Rachel & Anthony, July
Hatfeild Hall feels grand from the moment you turn in. The drive runs along the golf course under the trees, and that long approach is worth photographing in its own right: the car arriving, the first glimpse of the house.
Best photo spots: the front steps of the hall for group shots, the manicured grounds for relaxed portraits, and the tree-lined drive for a walking shot with real depth.
My tip: inside, the rooms are grand but can be dim on an overcast day. I’ll check which windows give the best light when I visit the week before.

It’s a short drive from Horbury, Ossett and Normanton. See wedding packages, or read about affordable wedding photography.
