Wakefield Wedding Photography Packages
Wakefield wedding photography packages should fit your day, not the other way round — that’s why I offer three options: Silver, Gold and Platinum, each built around a different length of coverage and budget, so you can choose what actually suits your wedding rather than squeezing it around a one-size-fits-all package.
Whichever package you go for, the approach stays the same. I’ve been photographing weddings across Yorkshire for over a decade, and in that time I’ve learned that the best images come from staying out of the way — blending into the background so you and your guests can just get on with enjoying the day, rather than posing for a camera. That’s the whole philosophy behind Black Hat Photography: honest, unposed, documentary-style coverage that captures your wedding as it actually happened, not as a series of staged moments. I’ve had the privilege of covering weddings at some brilliant Yorkshire venues — from the grand surroundings of Wakefield Town Hall to the more intimate setting of The Holmfield Arms, and from Hatfeild Hall right through to Dimple Well Lodge in Ossett. I’ve also covered weddings further afield at New Craven Hall in Leeds, Pontefract Town Hall, Waterton Park Hotel, Leeds and Garforth, and The Irish Centre in Leeds. Every venue brings something different — different light, different backdrops, different pace to the day — and I plan around that rather than turning up with a fixed shot list regardless of where I am.
It’s not just weddings, either. Over the years I’ve covered engagement shoots, family portrait sessions, birthday celebrations, and even a graduation shoot that turned a client’s front room into a full studio setup for the day. That range of experience feeds back into the wedding photography itself — knowing how to work a space, read the light, and put people at ease in front of the camera, whether there’s two of them or two hundred. Every package includes coverage across three distinct edit styles — a full, unedited colour set straight from the day, a Timeless Black & White edit that strips things back to light and shadow, and a Bedford 1940 Film edit with a warm, vintage feel. It means you’re never stuck with just one look for your photos; you get the full story told three different ways.
The process itself is simple and starts well before your wedding day. Around 6–8 weeks out, we’ll meet for a relaxed chat — a coffee shop works well — to talk through how your day is going to run, the shots that matter most to you, and who the important people are that I need to make sure I capture. About a week before the big day, I’ll visit your venue to scout the best light, the best viewpoints, and the best backdrops, so on the day itself I already know exactly where I need to be. Then, once the confetti’s settled, I go through every single image carefully and edit your favourites across all three styles before delivering them to you.
Whichever package you choose — whether that’s Silver for a shorter, more relaxed day, Gold for full-day coverage from bridal prep through to the first dance, or Platinum for the complete package with an engagement shoot and printed keepsakes — you’re getting a photographer who’s genuinely invested in telling the story of your day properly.
