A Wedding at York Register Office and The Irish Centre, Leeds

Making It Official

Dean and Damon had known each other for years, building a bond over time that eventually led them to make it official. They chose York Register Office for their ceremony — a striking Grade II listed Georgian building on Bootham, just a short walk from the city centre, and one of the most elegant register offices in Yorkshire.

Originally built in the mid-19th century, its classical façade and traditionally styled interiors gave the day a real sense of occasion from the very first “I do.”

Portraits at York Minster

After the ceremony, we made the short walk over to York Minster for photographs — one of the most spectacular backdrops anywhere in the country. Its soaring towers and centuries of history made for some genuinely breathtaking images, and it felt like the perfect way to mark the start of Dean and Damon’s married life together.

Onward to The Brown Cow, Crossgates

From York, everyone travelled back to Leeds to continue the celebrations at The Brown Cow in Crossgates — a proper local pub atmosphere where family and friends could relax, catch up, and toast the newlyweds properly before the evening’s festivities got fully underway.

Ending the Night at The Irish Centre, Leeds

To finish the night in style, everyone headed off to The Irish Centre in Leeds — a York Road landmark and the first purpose-built Irish centre in England, open since 1970 and still the beating heart of the city’s Irish community today. With its long history of music, dancing and celebration, there was nowhere better to bring Dean and Damon’s day to a close, and the party carried on long into the night.
