Practically next door

Normanton sits between Wakefield and Castleford, and I’m there in about ten minutes. Lots of Normanton couples marry nearby in Wakefield or Pontefract and come home to celebrate with friends at a local pub, club or function room. Those are some of my favourite days to photograph: no fuss, lots of people who’ve known each other forever, and plenty of laughs.

Pubs, clubs and smaller venues

Smaller venues bring their own challenges: low ceilings, mixed lighting and not much room to move. I bring the right kit to cope, work without flash during the ceremony wherever I can, and keep out of the way of your guests. Photo spots nearby

Haw Hill Park in the middle of town gives you trees and open space for a quick portrait session. If you’d prefer somewhere grander, Wakefield’s cathedral and Pontefract’s castle are both only a short drive away.

Which package?

Getting ready at home

Lots of Normanton couples get ready at home or at their parents’ house, and I love it. Family homes are full of character: the kitchen full of aunties, the dog in a bow tie, the dad pacing in the hallway. Those pictures often end up being the ones people treasure most, because they show real life on the most important morning.

Clear one room as best you can and open all the curtains. I’ll do the rest, quietly, without turning the house into a photo studio.

You’ll receive every chosen picture as a black and white, a warm film look and a vivid colour version, so you can pick your favourite or keep all three.
