A proud town with a big heart
Featherstone is rugby league country, home of the Rovers and a community that turns out in force for a celebration. Weddings here tend to be big, warm and loud, with family that’s been in the town for generations. That’s exactly the sort of day I love to photograph.

Many Featherstone couples marry at the register offices in Pontefract or Wakefield, then head back to a local club or hall. I photographed Jade and Stephanie’s wedding at Pontefract Town Hall, with portraits at Pontefract Castle and a reception at a working men’s club in Airedale: a very typical Five Towns day.
Clubs and function rooms
Club receptions are brilliant fun, but they can be dark, with low ceilings and coloured lights. I plan for that light so your guests aren’t blinded by flash, and I’m happy working around a busy bar and a packed dance floor.
